MetaTrader 4 Main Menu – Insert Button

A variety of objects, to be imposed on the chart, are collected in the “Insert” menu. Among them are line studies and technical indicators, as well as geometrical figures, arrows, and texts. In the “Indicators” sub-menu, all built-in technical indicators are grouped. Having selected a name in the list, one can impose the indicator into the active chart. Line studies are grouped in the corresponding sub-menu: “Lines” – various lines, “Channels” – a set of channels, “Gann” – Ganns tools, “Fibonacci” – tools based on Fibonacci numbers.

“Andrews Pitchfork” and “Cycle Lines”, which do not belong to any group, are placed at the end of the list. Further details on working with line studies can be found in the “Line Studies” section.

In addition, the following can be imposed into the chart from the present menu:

– Shapes – geometrical figures such as rectangles, triangles, ellipses, which allow one to select various areas within the chart.

– Arrows – symbols of arrows, check signs, stop signs, price signs, which allow one to select the most important points on the chart.

– Text – texts, which allow one to add comments to the chart. They are anchored to the chart and move together with the chart, when it is scrolled.

– Text Label – texts, which allow one to add comments. Labels are anchored to the window coordinates and not to the chart. When the chart is scrolled, the text label will not move.

All commands of the “Insert” menu, with the exception of the sub-menu managing indicators, are duplicated in the “Line Studies” toolbar.
