According to a February 16th statement by AT&T Inc (T), the companys non-TV subscribers will be able to take advantage of an unlimited wireless data plan amid fierce competition among wireless carriers. In the past, clients who were in want of an unlimited data scheme had to subscribe to AT&Ts DirectTV or Uverse services.

AT&T shares closed higher for a third straight session on Thursday. The stock edged up 0.32% ($0.13) to $41.25, after touching an intraday high of $41.36, or a level not seen since February 10th ($41.43). The stock has trimmed its slump to 2.16% so far during the current month, following a 0.87% drop in January. The latter has been the smallest monthly decrease since last September. For the entire 2016, the shares of the NYSE-listed company gained 23.60%.

It has been just recently when rival company Verizon Communications Inc unveiled a lucrative offer to its customers, which would encompass unlimited data, talk time and text at a monthly charge of $80. In comparison, AT&Ts unlimited package is to come at a cost of $100 per month.

Last month AT&T revealed forward guidance, which was roughly in unison with market consensus, while also reporting a loss of 67 000 postpaid phone subscribers. According to the company, the latter were low-margin subscribers who do not represent its main focus (high-value clients).
