  • The 14-day Relative Strength Index stood at 58.39, indicating firm positive momentum without signaling overbought conditions.

EUR/JPY Technical Overview

EUR/JPY advanced during Asian trading on Thursday, hovering near 185.70 after modest losses in the previous session. Daily chart signals showed the pair continuing to trade inside an ascending channel, reflecting a sustained bullish tone in the cross.

The pair has been holding above both the nine-period and 50-period Exponential Moving Averages, reinforcing a constructive near-term outlook. Price action remained close to recent highs, with the 14-day Relative Strength Index at 58.39, pointing to solid upside momentum while still staying short of overbought territory. This setup indicates that pullbacks could continue to attract buying interest as long as the broader uptrend remains in place.

Upside Targets and Resistance Levels

If buying interest persists, EUR/JPY may move toward the all-time high of 187.95, which was reached on April 17. A further extension of the advance would bring the focus to the upper boundary of the ascending channel, positioned near 188.50.

Support Zones and Risk to the Bullish Structure

On the downside, immediate support is seen around the lower edge of the ascending channel at 185.60. Below that, additional technical support comes in at the nine-day EMA at 185.30 and the 50-day EMA at 184.77. A decisive break beneath this combined support area could trigger a bearish reversal, potentially opening the way for a move toward the nine-month low of 179.37, which was marked on August 3.
