New Renewable Power Agreements in Sweden

Amazon.com Inc. has entered into long-duration contracts to buy electricity from four Swedish wind farms as it ramps up data center capacity in the country, Bloomberg reported on Friday.

Bloomberg, citing mailed statements from the company, reported that these agreements will deliver close to 200 megawatts of incremental electricity for Amazon in Sweden. With these additions, the technology giant’s total accessible power supply in the country is set to rise above 1 gigawatt once the wind facilities are fully up and running.

Project Developers and Ownership Structure

The quartet of wind farms is being developed by Eolus AB and OX2 AB. According to the report, private equity firm EQT AB holds ownership of OX2 AB.
