Twitter shares gain for a fifth session in a row on Tuesday, company appoints Ned Segal as CFO

Ned Segal has reportedly been appointed as Twitters new Chief Financial Officer. The appointment is effective in late August. Segal is to replace Anthony Noto, who is to return to his role as the companys Chief Operating Officer.

Twitter shares closed higher for a fifth consecutive trading session on Tuesday. It has also been the sharpest daily surge since June 21st. The stock went up 3.10% ($0.56) to $18.64, after touching an intraday high at $18.66, or a price level not seen since June 26th ($19.01). In the week ended on July 9th the shares of the social media company added 0.84% to their market value compared to a week ago, which marked the slowest increase since the week ended on June 4th. The stock has extended its advance to 4.31% so far during the current month, following a 2.46% slump in June. The latter has been the first drop out of three months. For the entire past year, Twitter shares plummeted 29.56%.

Ned Segal is expected to report to Twitters Chief Executive Officer, Jack Dorsey. Segal previously served as senior VP of finance for Intuits Small Business Group.

According to CNN Money, the 30 analysts, offering 12-month forecasts regarding Twitter’s stock price, have a median target of $15.00, with a high estimate of $25.00 and a low estimate of $9.20. The median estimate is a 19.53% decrease compared to the closing price of $18.64 on July 11th.

The same media also reported that 19 out of 36 surveyed investment analysts had rated Twitter’s stock as “Hold”, while 10 – as “Sell”. On the other hand, 4 analysts had recommended buying the stock.
