The Research in motion Ltd. (BlackBerry) announced plans to push forward the new message system and make it available for Android operating system thus usable to Apple and Google. BBM has around 60 million active users. Entering in this deal BBM has to compete with other instant message products such as WhatsApp and Viber who are already working on Android OS. However they tail away at the moment for not offering video or voice functions.

BlackBerry has struggled recent years mainly because of the huge competition of Apple and Android based platforms. Some were expecting the firm not to be able to survive in these conditions, but BlackBerry prove them wrong. Although company has lost most of its smartphone market share and its phones failed to catch up with competition, BlackBerry launched a new operating system called BlackBerry 10.

Blackberry hopes to expand their services and to attract lots of new customers using Iphone and Android OS.It would also improve the popularity of the BBM system.
