FX Primus is a multi-jurisdictional forex and CFD broker that has been in operation since 2009. The brand markets itself as an STP/ECN venue offering MetaTrader 4 across desktop, web and mobile with optional copy-trading plug-ins. Depending on the client’s country of residence, leverage ranges from the ESMA-capped 1:30 (retail EU) to a maximum of 1:1,000 under its offshore entity. Minimum deposits start from $100 (or currency equivalent) and the broker advertises negative balance protection as well as segregated client money at tier-1 banks.
The product line-up covers more than 120 instruments, including forex majors, minors and exotics, spot metals, energies, global equity indices, a selection of US shares and several crypto pairs – all offered as CFDs. EU clients benefit from the Cyprus Investor Compensation Fund (ICF) of up to €20,000, while traders onboarded through the South African or Vanuatu entities do not have access to any statutory compensation scheme.

FX Primus offers a broad multi-asset line-up - 40+ forex pairs, spot metals and energies, cash indices, US large-cap share CFDs and leading cryptocurrencies - on market execution with 24/5 access (24/7 for crypto). Leverage is entity-dependent (EU 1:30, up to 1:1,000 under VFSC) with competitive pricing, e.g. EUR/USD from 1.5 pips (Standard) or 0.3 pips + commission (VIP).Forex trading
FX Primus quotes more than 40 currency pairs, spanning majors such as EUR/USD and GBP/USD, minors like EUR/GBP, and exotics including USD/TRY and EUR/ZAR. Leverage is entity-dependent: 1:30 for EU retail, 1:500 under FSCA and up to 1:1,000 under VFSC. Typical spreads on EUR/USD average 1.5 pips (Standard) or 0.3 pips + commission (VIP). Trading is available 24/5 with market execution and no dealing-desk intervention claimed.
Commodity trading
The broker offers spot gold (XAU/USD), silver (XAG/USD) and energies such as US Crude and UK Brent. Contract sizes follow the industry norm of 100 oz per standard lot for gold and 1,000 barrels for oil. Swaps are variable; gold longs incur approximately –3 USD/lot per day under average conditions. Commodities can be traded in micro-lots, enabling diversification with limited margin outlay.
Index trading
Clients may trade cash indices covering the US (US30, US500, NAS100), Europe (GER40, FRA40, UK100) and Asia-Pacific (AUS200, HKG50, JPN225). Margin requirements start at 1% (leverage 1:100) for offshore entities and 5% (1:20) in the EU. Cash indices are adjusted daily for dividends; no futures expiries apply. Typical spreads are 1.0 point on the US500 during peak hours.
Share trading
A curated list of US large-cap equities, including Apple, Tesla and Amazon, is available with leverage up to 1:5 (EU) or 1:20 (offshore). Corporate actions such as splits and dividends are passed on through price adjustments. A minimum ticket size of one CFD share applies; commission is baked into a marked-up spread rather than charged separately.
Cryptocurrency trading
Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple are quoted against the US dollar with leverage capped at 1:2 for EU clients and 1:10 elsewhere. Trading is open 24/7, but weekend liquidity can thin out, leading to wider spreads. The broker reserves the right to switch to ‘close-only’ mode during extreme volatility events to protect client and firm capital.

FX Primus centres its execution around the industry-standard MetaTrader 4 suite, available for Windows, macOS (via emulation), web browser and both iOS/Android mobile apps. No proprietary desktop platform is offered, although the broker provides several value-added plug-ins such as Trading Central analytics, Autochartist pattern recognition and VPS hosting for algorithmic traders. Copy trading is enabled through third-party services that link to MT4.
MetaTrader 4
MT4 delivers up to nine time-frames, 30 default indicators and four pending order types, with support for Expert Advisors (EAs) and custom scripts written in MQL4. FX Primus allows one-click trading and hedging, and advertises average forex execution speeds below 50 ms, although this metric is not independently verified. All account types can be run on MT4, and the broker publishes real-time spread and swap information inside the platform.
For traders wishing to host algorithmic strategies, FX Primus partners with third-party VPS providers located near its LD4 data centre. A qualifying deposit (currently $500 or more) waives the monthly VPS fee for the first year.
Copy trading
Clients that prefer signal following over self-directed trading can connect their MT4 account to DupliTrade or ZuluTrade. These marketplaces display historical performance, risk scores and fee models for each strategy provider. The broker enforces equity stop-out levels and allows users to cap lot size, maximum drawdown and the number of simultaneous positions. Copy services attract either a performance fee (ZuluTrade) or a volume-based fee (DupliTrade) on top of normal trading costs.
Payment methods
FX Primus supports card payments (Visa, Mastercard), international and local bank transfers, and a selection of e-wallets including Skrill and Neteller. Cryptocurrency deposits in Bitcoin and Tether are accepted through an external gateway, although blockchain network fees are borne by the client. The full country-specific list is only visible inside the secure client portal; the information below reflects what is publicly stated.
The minimum deposit for most rails is $100. Card and e-wallet deposits credit instantly, while bank transfers typically clear within 1–3 business days depending on the sending institution. FX Primus does not levy internal funding fees, but intermediary banking charges or crypto network costs still apply.
Withdrawals must be routed back to the original funding source up to the deposited amount; surplus profits can be sent by bank wire or e-wallet. The broker processes withdrawal requests within 24 hours on business days, after which transfer times depend on the method: same-day for e-wallets, 1–3 business days for cards, and 3–5 business days for wires. One free withdrawal per calendar month is offered; subsequent requests may incur a service fee of up to $25.
Base account currencies include USD, EUR, GBP, SGD and AUD. Choosing a base that matches your domestic currency helps avoid unnecessary conversion charges.

Account types
FX Primus provides four live account tiers plus an unlimited demo environment. Pricing is either spread-only or raw spread + commission, and swap-free/Islamic conditions are available on request. Leverage maxima differ by entity – 1:30 for CySEC retail clients, 1:500 for FSCA clients, and up to 1:1,000 for VFSC clients – subject to the broker’s appropriateness test.
Standard account
The Standard account uses a spread-only model with typical EUR/USD spreads from 1.5 pips. No commission applies, making it suitable for newer traders or those preferring an all-inclusive cost structure. The minimum opening balance is $100 and all instruments and platforms are available.
Premium account
Premium traders obtain tighter spreads (advertised from 1.0 pip) in exchange for a higher minimum deposit of $2,500. Execution conditions remain STP, and the account qualifies for free VPS hosting plus priority withdrawal processing. Commission is still zero; the cost advantage manifests chiefly in lower spreads on majors and gold.
VIP account
The VIP tier offers raw spreads from 0.0 pips with a commission of $5 per round lot. A $10,000 opening balance is required. Dedicated account managers and bespoke educational sessions are included. High-volume traders may negotiate lower commissions based on monthly turnover.
Cent account
A Cent account, denominated in US cents, allows position sizing as low as 0.01 micro-lot, bringing the effective minimum deposit down to $10. Spreads mirror the Standard schedule. This structure is aimed at beginners who wish to trade live markets with minimal financial exposure while testing execution and psychology.
Demo accounts
Registration for a demo takes less than five minutes and only an email and phone number are required. Demo balances up to $50,000 can be selected, and accounts do not expire as long as they are logged into at least once every 30 days. All live symbols and real-time pricing are mirrored, enabling realistic strategy testing before funding.
Support
Customer service is available 24/5 via live chat, e-mail and a multilingual telephone help-desk. Live chat normally connects to a human agent within two minutes during market hours (00:00 Monday – 23:59 Friday server time, GMT+2). Supported languages include English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Malay and Chinese; less common languages route to English-speaking staff.
The broker maintains a searchable knowledge base covering platform installation, payments and account verification. If the chatbot cannot resolve the query, it escalates to a human representative. Complaints are acknowledged within 24 hours and assigned a unique ticket ID for tracking.
Conclusion
FX Primus combines above-average regulatory cover for EU traders with high-leverage options under its offshore arm, making it flexible for both risk-averse and high-risk profiles. The exclusive reliance on MT4 may deter users seeking more modern platforms such as MT5 or cTrader, yet the broker compensates through useful plug-ins, solid copy-trading integrations and free VPS for qualifying accounts.
Transparent account structures, broad payment rails and generally quick withdrawals are plus points, while the absence of an investor compensation scheme for FSCA and VFSC clients, and a limited share/ETF roster, are the main drawbacks. Overall, FX Primus suits traders who value MT4, tiered pricing choice and the ability to select an entity that matches their leverage appetite.
