Honeywell Aerospace also said that Aeromexico plans to deploy its Surface Alerts (SURF-A) runway safety technology across more than 100 Boeing jets, including Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX aircraft.

SURF-A provides pilots with real-time aural and visual alerts when an aircraft is on a trajectory to collide with another aircraft on a runway. The system uses GPS data, Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) equipment and software analytics to detect traffic hazards.

The company expects certification of SURF-A on several Boeing aircraft by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue into 2027.
