Ford shares close higher on Friday, company appoints Lynn Vojvodich to its board

Ford Motor Company (F) was reported to have appointed Lynn Vojvodich, former executive at Salesforce.com Inc, to its board of directors. She is to assume the new role in April.

Ford shares closed higher on Friday, while also marking their second gain in the past seven trading sessions. The stock edged up 0.24% ($0.03) to $12.53, after touching an intraday high at $12.63, or a price level not seen since March 8th ($12.64). In the week ended on March 12th the shares of the global automotive company lost 0.95% of their market value compared to a week ago, which has been the worst performance since the week ended on January 22nd. The stock has neutralized earlier advance and is now flat so far during the current month, following a 1.38% surge in February. The latter has been a fourth consecutive month of gains. For the entire past year, Ford shares lost 13.91%.

According to the auto maker, Vojvodichs software industry experience will contribute to the enhancement of Fords customer experience strategy.
